Impact Evaluation Foundations and Theory of Change Handouts
This study pack contains workshop handouts teaching the foundations of impact evaluation and Theory of Change design. The Evaluation Foundations material defines impact, explains its dimensions (What, Who, How Much, Contribution, Risk), contrasts everyday versus technical definitions, and situates impact measurement within global initiatives such as the SDGs and Impact Management Project. The Groundwork for Theory of Change handouts guide students through conceptualising intended change, analysing assumptions, identifying stakeholders and boundaries, and constructing a visual Theory of Change diagram. These materials equip learners to prepare rigorous impact evaluations for organisations and programmes.
