HCI-670: Integrated Oncology EHR Workflow Case Study (Universal Health)
HCI-670 integrated case study on Universal Health’s two Arizona oncology programs after a merger and EHR conversion to Chrystal. Oncology North (on Chrystal for about eight years, affiliated with a national oncology system) and Oncology South (Academic Hospital program converted off its prior EHR) must standardize workflows. Indexed materials are the case narrative plus the Oncology North navigator intake form and the Oncology South nurse-navigator intake (barriers to care, psychosocial assessment, MST nutrition screen, learning and ADL barriers, distress scale, and treatment-plan checklist). Students use these sources to assess navigator and prior-authorization needs, compare North and South documentation, and design future-state oncology workflows, forms, clinical decision support, user testing, evaluation metrics, and training.
